Dry lipsticks might mean allergies...

I have always been healthy growing up, however in recent years I've gotten sick more often and I've had bad skin issues and even allergies... I just want to throw in a caution to everyone about lipbalms. I've always loved them however, since last December I've had really really dry lips as shown in the pictures below:
So sorry for the disturbing pictures...
I've used EOS lipbalm for over a year when the condition above started developing. At first there was just dryness around the mouth area then progressively getting more and more dry and finally painful and itchy skin. I had a permanent red ring around my lips that was worst than the pictures... I suspect that I may be allergic to beeswax and so I checked the ingredients on my lip products religiously. The occasional time I am seduced by a lip product that contains it, I always regret... in any case, I just wanted to put this out there because I've noticed that some people have had bad reactions to EOS lipbalms and this could be a reason why.

One other thing I want to warn people: DO NOT over-apply your lipbalms, it can make things worst. I find that when I overdid it, even if the product does not contain beeswax, it can upset my lips and cause peeling or dryness. The skin on your lips should be allow to breath once in a while.

Currently, a few lipbalms my lips are happy with are: Vaseline lip therapy, Laura Mercier Lip Silk and First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Lip Therapy.

There are also quite a few lipsticks and lip glosses that I can use, as shown in some of my lippies post. Let me know if you are interested in the list of products that I'm okay with.

Note:  I don't actually have any problems with beeswax in any other beauty products except for blushes... The human body works in such mysterious ways...

Love it or Leave it

Hello pretties~ Just wanted to share with you some products I've been using lately...
please just ignore that eyelash... just pretend it's not there... I tried to get rid of it, but somehow it stayed on the photo.... I wonder how it got there... hm... (did I get you looking? haha)
EOS Everyday Hand Lotion (44ml) - First off,  I got this at Walmart while I was in the states for $3 USD, but then I recently saw them being sold at Pmall for $8CAD (!?) Overall, I think that the packaging is very cute and unique. I like that it is compact and not scented but as a lotion, I don't really think that it is moisturizing enough. For about the same price in the states I can pick up a 88ml lotion from Bath and Body Works that actually does its job. I'd say, Leave it!
Penguin Socks - This is the best $2.99 ever spent on socks! Keeps my feet warm when it's cold inside (my room is on top of the garage = extra cold) They were on sale at Rexall a while ago... should have picked up an extra pair. These are great for hardwood floor because they have these slip proof bottoms that are perfect for accident-prone people (aka me!) Love it!
Blistex Lip Medex -  I had to abandon my Jack Black since it was a bit too thick at times, so my little brother (who is 25 btw) introduced me to this great product that can be found find at your local drugstore/Walmart and half the price... <3 little brother~ I was surprised that I am enjoying the minty-ness and that I did not mind sticking my fingers in the tube (pet peeve!!) But I did end up getting the stick version as well (Thanks Daisy!!) Now I can use this baby at work without constantly going to wash my hands before application~ :) Love it!

Sugar-Free Peppermints by Little i - The mint were good to keep bad breath away, but my favourite part of this tin is the little mirror on the inside. It is great for on-the-go and is the perfect companion for liptsick (or in my case lipbalm) application~ Plus the little penguin is just too cute. Love it! (btw, did you notice a reoccurring theme??)
While I'm at it... let's bring some chocolate into the mix!
Rondoletti chocolate - I do not normally 'love' chocolate, but this 'luxury cream wafer' is delicious! It's crunchy on the outside, but creamy chocolate inside~ Great to have with tea or when you need a quick chocolate fix~ Love it!
Biotherm Lait Corporel (125ml)- Let me start off with letting you know that I do not hate this product, it's just because at this price tag... 'I've had better' (anyone notice the quote from True Lies??~~) This product does moisturize your skin and has a fresh citrus smell, which could be a bit overwhelming if you are sensitive to smell. It comes out more watery and does not feel sticky after it applies. It's a decent body lotion, I just prefer my daily moisturizing lotion by Aveeno~ Leave it!

Current product: Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm

I love(d) my EOS lipbalm and had been using them since September of last year... Back in June I finally got a hold of one in Sweet Mint one and had been using that until the end of November when my lips cracked and peeled... This painful (and ugly) condition went on for an entire week, and whenever I apply my EOS lipbalm on my lips, it got worst so I decided to just not put anything on my lips. There is very slight improvement but at least it did not get worst. Luckily, when I went to spend my $20 gift card at Sephora I was introduced to this miraculous product by one of the awesome CSR~ (Thank you so much Christina!)

First off... I know that Jack Black is a brand designed for men but this lipbalm fits the bill and does its job well! The first thing you notice about this is that it is very thick. After you apply it on your lips they instantly feel softer and is surprisingly not sticky. The two choices for flavor were mint and the flavor I picked: Lemon and Chamomile which is sweet and lightly scented. I've been using this for two weeks now and my lips are so much better, still slightly tender because the skin peeled so badly, but it is recovering nicely~

Mini Haul: Makeup + lipbalm + skincare

I was on my best behavior this weekend when it came to shopping... This was all I purchased from a 2 day shopping spree. I would have spent less if I didn't get the Lancome Génifique concentrate while I was at Sephora.

So how well did I do? $155USD (that's saving about $90). Here's my haul ~\
So happy I got the tangerine flavor EOS lipbalm!!!!!!!
YSL Gloss Volupté in 6 Vanilla Pink, this lip gloss smells like watermelon and has a lovely  light pink tint to it. Gorgeous gloss :)
YSL Blush Variation in #2 Pink Bloom
MAC Digi Pops Green - Both Shroom and Club are on my MAC e/s want list and at the the price of $26USD I get Steamy and Sunny Spot as bonuses. It's a Win-Win :)
Wet N Wild Blue Had Me At Hello
Wet N Wild Comfort Zone, I have been looking all over for this palette ever since I saw it on  Jen's YT vid... but they were either out of stock or the rare one that I found were broken~ I hope it's worth it!
A pretty bracelet from Banana Republic

Update: 24/11/11

It appears I brought the same colour twice! Meet Club from MAC and this beautiful shade from my Wet N' Wild Palette! From the pan they look almost identical, but the colour in the WNW palette has a bit more bluish green sparkles in it... Will do swatches when I finally use either palettes! :)

My Go-to products

Most MU addicts (like myself) own a lot of makeup... however, only a select few are used daily... Here is my list:
  • Anastasia Go-To-Brow: quick and easy, I don't have to go hunting for a brush to apply it on and the highlighter on the other end :)
  • shu uemura eyelash curler: one word, L.O.V.E! no pinching and beautiful curls for people with short lashes~
  • eos lipbalm: my current fave is the mint one, because of it, my lips have never been softer!
  • Maybelline Line Stiletto in brownish black: so easy to use in creating clean thin lines, a product I will definitely repurchase~
  • Almay one coat nourishing mascara: the mascara shows my curls beautifully and on most occasions does not leave me with raccoon eyes, but at times it might... I wish my eye area was less oily -__-
  • Urban Decay Naked palette: the colours are neutral, which is perfect for work, yet there are colours you can use if you want a bolder look
  • Too Faced Shadow Insurance: this is a very important product for people with oily eyelids as myself, although I must say that I prefer the UD primer over this...
  • Clinique mirror: it's a simple mirror that is slightly bigger than your palm, it does its job and it was free :)
My 'dailies.' Lately I've been using my October Luxebox as a tray to hold  frequently used MU

Due to hygienic reasons... I have to switch out my eyeliner and mascaras at the 3-6 months mark ( it really should be 3 months... but I pushed most to almost 6)... I feel that they were still okay, but I don't want to risk getting a stye... so here are the products I'm switching up with:

I heart EOS lipbalm

I'm not one who likes to put anything on my lips. I feel that they dry up more quickly when I do, and I don't like the stickiness that lip gloss leaves. So, I was quite surprise to have completely adore these EOS lipbalms... I am almost done my Summer Fruit, now working on my Lemon Drop and Honeysuckle Honeydew... Truly, I am addicted to these... and the original reason for this is probably because of how fun they are to apply and how good they taste :) I especially liked the Lemon Drop during the summer (or ski season) because it is the only one with with a SPF 15.

I tried to mix and match, but the lids don't stay on well like this!
These were originally hard to find, but I've spotted them at RW & Co and Rexall and it's suppose to be in Sobey's as well, so I will be keeping an eye out for them :)

Goodies from Auntie :)

My auntie and her son recently went on a one month trip to the states and she bought back a bunch of gooooooodies for both Roni and I! Here's a quick post sharing some gifted goodies from her and Eh-Lynn... :D

From all these goodies, I am really looking forward to the EOS mint lipbalm... I have been dying to try it out and this one is HARD to find. I found it once however I ended up gifting it to a friend who loves mint, since then I have not been able to find it anywhere... Until auntie gave me this!! :) I love the rest of the EOS lipbalm (especially the Lemon drop) so I know this will not disappoint!

I am also excited to try the Sephora Colour Wand for Lips-Blue... Really I am just excited to try the blue gloss XD

They told me they picked up the tree earrings from California. It is very pretty and light-weight, I am thinking about doing a makeup look inspired by them, but haven't decided on how to proceed... :) Ooohh! I worn the necklace, and it looks sooooo nice paired with a simple black top!

Have you received any goodies lately? :)

Eos lip balm + Pretty eyeshadows...

EOS lip balm in honeysuckle honeydew and summer fruit

After seeing these adorable lip balm I knew I had to find them! Whenever I stopped by a drugstore or any place that sells lip balm I would go through the aisle looking for it... However no luck.... Last week however, I went on the EOS webpage and I found out that RW & Co. sells them... Immediately I went to get them this weekend!! I got two, a honeysuckle honeydew scented one and a summer fruit! The packaging is adorable and the application is unique :) I love things that smell good and taste good, although I'm pretty sure you aren't suppose to eat them (I can't help it! ) This will make an excellent addition to anyone who likes a unique lip balm!

Update: I went to the states a few time and I got the EOS in Lemon drop. Love it! It is refreshing and as a plus has a spf 15 making it perfect for a sunny day out! Also it is easy to open even with gloves as I found out snowboarding at Blue Mountain this year! :)

L.A. Color in Tease

OMG! This was sooo good!! Very intense colours, vibrant and simply beautiful! I loved it! I have NEVER worn red as an eyeshadow... but after I applied this one I really liked it! The first time I used it I didn't use primer and it creased a little... So we'll see how it looks after I prep my eyelids first ;)

Update: yeps better and brighter colours with primer, and does not budge :)
