Ipsy January 2014 - last bag

Ending with a bang! I've received a lovely last bag from ipsy, since I've decided to cut down on my beauty spending for 2014. There are more than enough products to test out within my collection that it is time to call it quits with beauty subscriptions. Anyways, onto the products I received on my last month~
  • Benefit the POREfessional - I like receiving deluxe sample of this product because I know that I'd never fork out the money to buy the full size. It's a nice product to have, but not a necessity.
  • MALIN + GOETZ Mojito Lip Balm - I'm quite excited to try out this product, but at first sniff, I didn't smell any mojito... Perhaps it reacts upon contact with lip? hehe... This lip product does not contain beeswax/cera alba, so that means I can use it!
  • Balancer Guru Balm Me Up Organic Sweet and Tangy Body Balm - I'm not sure if I would keep this product, but it seems like a nice sample size to try out.
  • Absolute! Makeup Cleansing Tissue - One can never have too many cleansing tissue! :) Will report back whether this will irritate my skin!
  • Yaby Liquid Foundation in Buff - Oil-free liquid foundation that is suppose to mimic natural skin? Oh ya! :) Looking forward to trying this out, fingers crossed that it doesn't break me out :)
Sad to say bye, bye, but at least it ended off well. If I was to get a beauty subscription, it'd likely be Ipsy.

Ipsy December 2013

My December Ipsy bag arrived Wednesday ^^ and I finally got time to upload the picture. I do have to admit, I spoiled my surprise this month because I checked My Glam
  • Pop Beauty Bright Up Your Life Eye Shadow Trio in Naturally Bare: I was surprised to get a trio with such lovely colours, I have not yet swatch, but I hope it won't disappoint.
  • Be a Bombshell The One Stick (to rule them all... hehe...) in Flustered
  • Mirabella Eye Blender Brush: I really like the feel of this brush, the metal is heavy but feels nice when holding it. The bristle is also soft, will be looking forward to using it to blend my eyeshadows.
  • Nicka K New York Nail Colour in Classic Taupe: yay! happy to get a taupe nail polish, although I've
  • NYX Extra Creamy Round Lipstick in Hermes: not really my kind of lip colours, and I can't use it because it contains beeswax :(

Ipsy November 2013

Is it just me, or do beauty boxes no longer have the same appeal? I've lost interest... Anyways, here's what gloomy received for the month of November. I actually received the package last week but haven't gotten to uploading till now... Enjoy~
I feel that this tube looks so cheap, but it could be because I feel that the logo was just so poorly designed and fails to look luxurious. Anyways, this dramatic volume mascara retails for $20 USD, a single coat is suppose to amp up your lashes and gives an instant dramatic effect. I'm sitting on the fence with either giving this a try (despite it being not waterproof) or just give it out someone who has a higher chance of success with it.
I really appreciate that Ipsy tries to please everyone and included an Em Cosmetic product... but I can't help but being disappointed in receiving the mascara... Anyhoot, did you receive something different this month?

Ipsy October 2013

Tada! My October Ipsy bag finally arrived yesterday, and I was not disappointed. I think this may be my favourite one yet. (I'm easy to please ^_^) Here's the list of products:
  • Zoya Nail polish in Giovanna (full-size) We seem to be getting nail polish often, not that I'm complaining since they send out different colours and this time the colour is perfect for the season, just in time for Halloween (and if paired with the right red, perfect for Christmas!)
  • Buxom Full On Lip Polish in Dolly (deluxe sample) Did I ever mention that I adore deluxe lippy samples, especially the Buxom gloss? :) I hit jackpot with this one!
  • Sexy Hair Blow Dry Volumizing Gel: I wish I had a hairspray again, I really enjoyed them, but this one isn't so bad. I will give it a try and see if it helps with my flat hair ^_^
  • be Delectable hand cream in vanilla and cream: Another item I'm happy to receive, I'm looking forward to hunting down strawberry and cream ^_^
  • LA Fresh Oil-free face cleanser: one can never have too many of these :) These came at an amazing time too, since I just finished my Neutragena ones.
Cuz' the picture of the back of the nail polish bottle is soooo necessary~
... as is a picture of the back of the Buxom gloss...^_^
What did you think about this month's bag? do you like?

Ipsy August 2013

Underwhelming bag for me this month~ I try not to expect much from beauty subscriptions any more, but seeing how most people got the UD lipstick and the Smashbox photo finish primer, I had high hopes of getting either one. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem the majority. I just wish that Ipsy's distribution of products were more even, instead of having select 'super awesome' bags and 'mediocre' ones. It hardly seem fair. Of course, you can't satisfy everyone. With that being said, I did get one product I'm excited to try and the once again pretty bag seem to justify the $15+ that Canadians pay.
Here are the list of items in my purple Glamour Academy bag:
  • Pacifica Alight multi-mineral BB cream (10ml)
  • Pixi Lash Booster mascara
  • Noya vanilla lip balm
  • City Color Cheek stain in pink
  • Michael Todd jojoba charcoal facial scrub (30ml)
How lucky were you this month?

Ipsy July 2013

Hello pretties!!

I got my Ipsy bag quite early this month, but I had been a tad too lazy to post up my pictures, so here's a few I took~ This month's theme was Beach Beauty~
Items in my pretty pink bag:
  • POP Beauty Pouty Pop Crayon in Coral Crush (I wish I can use this, but I found out it has beeswax in it... so gotta give it away~!)
  • BH Cosmetics California Collection Eyeshadow sample (I still have not yet opened the packaging)
  • Sexy Hair Soy Renewal Beach Spray Conditioning & Texturizing Spray (promptly given to the wonderful Moose, cuz she can rock waves better than me and would get more joy out of it than me)
  • Coola Mineral Face SPF 20 Rose Essence Tinted Moisturizer (so looking forward to using, although I want to finish the samples I'm working on now first before opening this)
Coral Crush looks so lovely from just looking at the colour, unfortunately, I won't be able to use this product.
When I saw sneak peeks of this month's bag, I wasn't too psyched about it, but after I received it and started using it, I find myself really loving the ipsy pink bag. It is the perfect little make up bag to carry around during the summer. You can see what's inside and it holds quite a bit of stuff... Don't believe? check this out!
a not even full bag
everything inside
There was still more room to fit stuff in :| I am so surprised~~ Are you loving your bag this month? :)

Random fact: This past two weeks, I've actually been busy hunting down the McDonald's Despicable Me 2 minions... and alas, we succeeded in finding the last one last Monday ^_^ Here they are fighting over bananas!~

Ipsy June 2013

The theme for June Ipsy bag was "On the wild side." Did it capture the theme? I think it did all right, but I think that the postcard could have been more... wild. With that being said, let's take a look at what I got ^_^
  •  Ipsy leopard print bag - it's cute but not really my style. I think I might use it to hold my contact lens case and solution, it seems pretty water-resistant :)
  • J.Cats Eyelashes in EL01 - the hub says it looks natural... I can't wait to prove him wrong~
  • J.Cats sparkling cream palette - I think everyone thought this was an eyeshadow palette, but it's suppose to be used on the body and lips... some say that it can be applied as eyeshadow but must be extremely careful. I think I might just give it away as I very rarely use glitter~
  • Chella ivory lace highlighter - This was the most interesting item I received that I used almost immediately because I wanted to see how it compares to my Anatasia highlighter. It's quite creamy and blendable, but once blended it almost disappear on my skin. I also used it as a base for my under eye concealer and the results were okay.
  • NYX blush/bronzer - I'm not fond of the colour I got, since I rarely use bronzers and a cream one at that... Will see what happens to it, but I doubt I'd sport this during summer~
  • Starlooks liner in bare - I tried this on my lips and I looked ghostly~~ on the bright side, I think it would be perfect for halloween ~

Ipsy April 2013

So, I've been in hibernation for a while, but thought I'd come back and catch up on some blogging. So let me start off with what I received in my Ipsy bag (current favourite and only subscription.)
I quite like this month's theme of Pretty in Pink~ This is the only beauty subscription I decided to stay with. I might go back to Topbox in the future when my samples run low, but that seems to be a long time coming.

What was in my bag this month:

  • Be a bombshell blush in Sweet Cheeks
  • Sation Nail Lacquer in Love at first byte (love the play on words!)
  • Sexy Hair Soy Renewal
  • Mica Beauty Cosmetics Shimmer Powder in Earth

Two products that peaked my interest are the blush and nail polish :)
I decided to no longer put a gazillion pictures up per post, what do you think? good idea? bad idea? :P

Ipsy January 2013

I received two monthly beauty boxes yesterday one is Topbox and the other one is Ipsy :) This is my first bag, and I have to say I am quite impressed. Here's what I got!
I received a nude colour (Frappe)... not sure if I'd wear it.. but it looks pretty :)
merp~ hair stuff~~ merp~~
kakaka!!~ A product I wanted to try but didn't want to spend the money to  find out... so instead, it came as a surprise in my Ipsy bag :)
I enjoy the scent of this fruity-scented lotion! Haven't actually used it yet since I still have so many other samples to use. This is a very generous travel size :)
I'm glad to get a concealer brush :D One can never have too many brushes`~
I really liked the little detail on the bag, I love the stars on the inside and liked it so much that I immediately changed makeup bags after taking these pictures :)
tacky saying... but cute, I'm hanging this card on my curtain~
Derp~ pictures up now... content later? :)
