Rouge Dior 314 Angelique Beige swatched

I got bored last night waiting for my man to come home for dinner, so I decided to swatch Angelique beige one last time before returning it... Then I got carried away and swatched a few more lippies~ It is so sad that I cannot wear this Dior lipstick since I really adore the colour (a sheer warm beige with a hint of pink.)

I think I found a dupe within my collection for the Dior, which is the Too Faced Naughty Nude, one of my favourite. At least I know I'm consistent~ hehe... Please excuse the misfit (*cough* Kryolan), but I did warn you I go carried away with swatching XD

Update: Didn't have the heart to return it (plus it's used!) so I kept it :| gonna find a way to wear it eventually!

Too Faced Haul + Swatches

Last week Too Faced had their vintage sale... and I placed an order, which arrived this Monday~ My order had to crossed the border, but it arrived super fast via UPS. Can't tell you how happy I am to not have to wait a month to get this XD I sense another order coming up, if there's a sale =X Anyways, onto the haul:
Haul plus free sample of the shadow insurance
Promo code: FVINTAGE12 for 20% off :)
Aqua Bunny Cream to powder splashproof bronzer and Brightening blush in Mocha Mi Amore
Magic Wand Illuminating Foundation in Paris Light Medium
Now, onto the reason for my haul: Lip Creme~
I Want Candy and Nude Beach
Swatches with no flash from L to R: Naughty Nude, Nude Beach, Spice Spice Baby and I Want Candy

Of the four colours I bought, I find Naughty Nude most wearable. It's the perfect shade for my skintone (NW20), swatches on my lip can be found on this post. I enjoy all the colours I purchased except for Nude Beach. I think it's a little too light for me, any suggestions on how I can fix this? Please comment below and let me know!

Since I applied both new colours onto my lips, I decided to mix them together, and this was the result;
I Want Candy and Nude Beach mix :)
I love this shade! I thought that I Want Candy was a tad too bright, and Nude Beach seems to mellow it down just enough~ What do you think? Do you experiment with lip colours!?

So in love with... Too Faced La Creme Lipstick

What can I say? I'm not into nude lips, but boy am I head over heels in love with Naughty Nude! And for a neutral pink colour, I couldn't ask more from Spice Spice Baby... Ubber happy with my lippies purchase :)

Too Faced La Creme Color Drenched Lip Cream is a very moisturizing and creamy lipstick that glides smoothly onto your lips. I love the formulation and quality of this product. There is a faint fragrance (something sweet but hard to put a name on) that is not overwhelming. One of the things I love about it is the colour payoff, the colour you see in the tube is what you get on your lips (at least for the two I picked up.) I am so glad that I don't need to put on a lipbalm or a gloss on top of this, as it does not dry up my lips and provide a nice natural sheen. Lasting power for this lipstick is okay, there is a bit of transfer on mugs or glasses, but I don't find it too bad, approximately 3 hours.

Yet another Haul~

Quick post! Some bloggers say, the easiest post is a NOTD, but for a shopaholic like myself, I feel the haul posts are the easiest~~ This is me cheating after neglecting my blog for almost a month XD
I was in Atlanta for an entire week with family, but I still managed to squeeze in some time for shopping :) majority of these stuff were purchase at the outlet, the rest were at Wal-Mart, Costco and well... Sephora and L'Occitane~

I flipped my thumb nail before my trip so I had to stock up on some more bandaids... I got the Johnson & Johnson Water block plus, however, they were not that great. They were not that waterproof, and I had lost one in the shower~ I think I will stay with Nexcare Bright Comfort Fabric :) More realiable and more fun!

Hauled:

Aldo clutch in lilac
Benefit cosmetics's Ultra Plush Lip Gloss in Coralista
Big Bang Theory Kitty keychain
Cetaphil Gentle skin cleanser
CK Fedora, leather cuffs and camera bag for men
Clarins Moisture replenishing lip balm and Natural lip perfector
Cute penguin (we named Rocky) from Khols
Dove Dry Shampoo
ELF powder brush (as backup since the one I have wants to fall apart)
Essie nail polish in Gold as Gold
Justice League boys Tee from Walmart
Kielh's superbly restorative argan dry oil
Lancome eyeshadows (they were on sale for 5$ each! could not resist)
L'Occitane Lippies (Fleur Cherie Handcream and lipbalm, and Lip Shine gloss)
2 x Puma shoes on sale for 60% off
Maybelline Color Tattoo in Tough as Taupe
Neutragena makeup remover cleansing towelettes
Phyto Phytopolleine universal scalp elixir
Too Faced Primed and Poreless

Let me know if you want more info/swatches :) Until next time~

Eyeshadow Primer: Lasting power test

I was bored so I decided to play with some e/s primers that I have and find out how they compared to each other. The 4 subjects are: Too Faced Shadow Insurance, MAC pot paint in Painterly, Estee Lauder's touch base for eyes in Canvas Deep and ELF eyelid primer (can't rmb if it's from the regular line or studio line...) Let's take a look at my playful experiment!
Just the primer on my inner arm: Too Faced(it's clear, can't see or describe... my arm colour?), MAC(light pink), EL(gold shimmer), ELF (slightly peachy)
I didn't realize that there were colours for all the primers... except for the Too Faced one which dried to be colourless.
For this experiment I used the MAC e/s in Prussian and swatched it as evenly as possible on my arm with an e/s brush... the GAPS really surprised me as I was not expecting bare skin to pick up so little products... It was also interesting to see how the different colours of the primer affected the look of the e/s...
At 6pm
at 1am
After 7 hours, the colour was gone from the EL primer, followed by the ELF... MAC was able to retain very little colour (although the pink itself was still obvious... Even though the colours faded for all 4 products, the e/s on the Too Faced primer was still there after after I showered (and I scrubbed that arm!)

This concludes my little experiment, thanks for reading!!~ ^_^ have a great weekend~

My Go-to products

Most MU addicts (like myself) own a lot of makeup... however, only a select few are used daily... Here is my list:
  • Anastasia Go-To-Brow: quick and easy, I don't have to go hunting for a brush to apply it on and the highlighter on the other end :)
  • shu uemura eyelash curler: one word, L.O.V.E! no pinching and beautiful curls for people with short lashes~
  • eos lipbalm: my current fave is the mint one, because of it, my lips have never been softer!
  • Maybelline Line Stiletto in brownish black: so easy to use in creating clean thin lines, a product I will definitely repurchase~
  • Almay one coat nourishing mascara: the mascara shows my curls beautifully and on most occasions does not leave me with raccoon eyes, but at times it might... I wish my eye area was less oily -__-
  • Urban Decay Naked palette: the colours are neutral, which is perfect for work, yet there are colours you can use if you want a bolder look
  • Too Faced Shadow Insurance: this is a very important product for people with oily eyelids as myself, although I must say that I prefer the UD primer over this...
  • Clinique mirror: it's a simple mirror that is slightly bigger than your palm, it does its job and it was free :)
My 'dailies.' Lately I've been using my October Luxebox as a tray to hold  frequently used MU

Due to hygienic reasons... I have to switch out my eyeliner and mascaras at the 3-6 months mark ( it really should be 3 months... but I pushed most to almost 6)... I feel that they were still okay, but I don't want to risk getting a stye... so here are the products I'm switching up with:

Benefit Cosmetics - Erase Paste review

Benefit Cosmetics - Erase Paste in Medium

I really like this product, it not only provide perfect coverage for my under eye circles, but it also brightens the eye as well. This is especially perfect because I wear my glasses 70% of the time so this saves me the extra step of having to apply a highlighter under my eyes.

There are a few things I like about the product over others I have used(ie Smashbox, E.L.F. or Clinique), such as its creamy texture (the area under my eyes doesn't look cakey after application), it is very buildable (so a little bit more product means more coverage) and medium happen to be the perfect shade for me :)

Although the price is a little steep, like most people I found that only very little product is needed to do the job. It is definately worth the price :)

Makeup haul 3?! 4?!

:D Lancôme cosmetics were on sale at the "Designer Fragrances & Cosmetics Co." so I splurged a little... Et voilà!
The cosmetics I got on this trip :) lots of pretty eye shadow colours!
Here's a list of the things that I got at the outlet:
  • 5 single eyeshadows
  • 2 nail polish
  • 2 CIL BOOSTER XL Super-Enhancing Mascara Base
  • Lancôme Beauty Essentials gift set <-- has a eyeshadow palette + 3 brushes + mascara + mascara base!! :D

We also stopped by Millcreek mall to see if the Sephora inside Macy's was any good... and it was!! So from there I got the Naked Eye Soft & Sexy Eye Shadow Collection from Too Faced, and the Erase Paste from Benefit Cosmetics. I tried out the new Too Faced palette and was able to create a soft smokey look, Em liked it so I'm glad I got it. Though I haven't tried the concealer yet, I just know it'd be perfect for my undereye circles! Just need the time and patience for that.. :)

I like the Natural palette so much, I know I just had to get this one!!
Overall it was fun to shop again, I cannot wait to try out everything!

Haul: Eyeshadow palettes

I've been looking everywhere for the Urban Decay Naked palette with NO luck =(

So instead, this past weekend I decided to compensate by splurging a bit on different palettes I found in Sephora, the Bare Escentuals Outlet and Aerie (yes they sell make up too...)

I got the Urban Decay - Sustainable Shadow Box and the Too Faced - Natural Eyes Neutral Eye Shadow Collection from Sephora.

In Bare Escentuals I got 2 IQUAD Eye Shadow Compact one in shades of green and the other in shades of pink

@ American Eagle I got a set of eyeshadows for less that 5$!!! :D value deal and the colors were very pretty!~ I especially liked the Taupe and the Champagne colour on the palette and got complimented on it already :D :D :D

Also at The Cosmetic Company I got the Clinique - Redness Solutions Instant Relief Mineral Powder as well as the Clinique - Concealing pen in 02. I suspect that the mineral powder might be causing me to break out... but it could just be the stressful nature of the month (me getting a year older and all... haha) Will continue using it after the stress is done :)
