Love it or Leave it

Lip combo: Bobbi Brown Lip in Papaya and Lip gloss in Bright Pink. I've been loving this colour combination together. Even though Papaya looks scary on the tube, it is actually a quite everyday appropriate colour.  Papaya leaves a nice stain hours after application, so the colour is never 'gone, gone'. All I have to do is reapply the gloss and I get this lovely neutral pink colour on my lips. Love it!
Papaya looked scary in the tube, but is so lovely and so is Bright Pink~

I've tried two BB creams lately and one of them was the Etude House Precious Mineral BB cream. I liked the scent and the coverage of this product but I don't love what it did to my skin. It broke me out like crazy. Like most BB cream, it made me look way too pale. Leave it!

When I saw this in other people's Fall luxebox last year I lusted after it... and when I bought it, I was so excited to try it out, only to be disappointed. The Eyeko Liquid eyeliner did not love me. Smudged like crazy and I turned raccoon within the hour. Even though, I've only heard good reviews about this it is most definitely a fail for people with oily lids. To make matters worst, it applied unevenly and therefore made a 2 minutes application take twice as long. Perhaps I got a dud, but I won't be repurchasing another one just to verify if that was the case. Leave it!

When I initially purchased this, I wasn't too fond of using it, but I've since changed my mind. The Guerlain Meteorites Light-Diffusing Perfecting Primer is a lightweight base that 'illuminates and conceals' while keeping the face matte. It is lightly perfumed, a fact that I wasn't so crazy about, but like all scent goes away after a while. For me this product was a good makeup base and I was glad it did not make my face greasy. This is a great way for me to 'finish' off the skincare routine and a great 'start' for the makeup to follow. On days I use this primer, my pores are less apparent throughout the day. My skin has just been loving it, drinking it up almost as soon as I apply it over my face :) With the price tag of $78 for 30ml... it better deliver! JK... but seriously... it's expensive and I'd have to think long and hard about getting it when I'm done with this bottle... Love it!

An accessory I've been loving is the Ipsy January bag. I like this simple looking bag with the detail on the inside. The bag looks small but can fit a surprisingly large amount of things in. Since it is fall, I keep a scarf in the there as well as  Love it!
Nexus 7, utterly addicted to this device. It's perfect for watching Youtube video, reading books/comics, playing games, surfing and just basically anything you need to do... Think netbook but even more compact and portable. :) It is similar to the iPad mini but for a fraction of the price. Love it!

One thing I have been LOVING is my purse organizer. In fact, every person I've shown it to, purchased one after. It is just super handy if you switch bags often. I love being able to find my keys or phone when I need it. Without a doubt, Love it!
That's it for now, until next time!

SDM Haul: 80,000 points redemption

I broke my no-buy pledge this month because of the awesome point redemption promo at Shoppers Drug Mart this weekend... for 40,000 points you can redeem up to $90 worth of stuff or, the next tier which is 80,000 points for $200... I had been saving my points for this so I had to go redeem them! And this was what I came home with (along with a few samples I got from Sephora...) Moose and I had a makeover, and we basically bought every product Davis (the Bourjois MUA) put on us... He was amazing :) Here's the haul for a little over $29 CAD ^_^
SDM rep also gave us a few samples, which was super sweet of her!
I picked up two Bourjois Color Boost Glossy Finish Lipstick in 04 Peach on the Beach and 03 Orange Punch. 4 colours were launched but I only saw 3 of them at SDM.
Davis applied this on my face and I was in love~~ Previously, I've tried the Bourjois Healthy Mix serum gel foundation and disliked how it looked on my skin, so imagine my surprise when this looked so awesome on me this time around. The Bourjois 10hr Sleep Effect foundation is a light /liquidy foundation that provides a medium coverage that is buildable. It looked and felt so lovely and light. I was shocked. I knew that I have been sleep deprived last week so the beautiful result made me have to own it, instantly.
This was applied on my crease and looked quite lovely, but as my husband pointed out, I looked like I was done up... perhaps a tad too much? It's not usually something I'd do, so I'm not sure if I will be keeping this. I also have way too many brown glittery eyeshadows...
This Bourjois Duochrome eye pencil in 59 violet rose added a lovely accent when applied just above my black eyeliner...
I can't justify why I had purchased both of these mascaras... I was curious... I loved the effect the Volumizer mascara had on Moose... The Volume Clubbing mascara is suppose to be sweat proof, so... yeah... that's why they were in my checkout bag... *shifty eyes* Let's test these babies out!!
The last product that I purchased, was one that I've lusted over for a while now... It is the Guerlain Météorites compact in 03 Teinte Doré. I'm still unsure about the shade that I got, but I have wanted to get this product for a long while now and finally I got my hands on them! buhahahha!! It blended easily and it took out some shine that my foundation did not.
A bunch of freebies we got that day
After spending almost 3 hours at SDM, we decided to check out Sephora as well and that's when we spotted this Sephora CSR with flawless skin... We asked her what her secret to beautiful skin was and she pointed us to AmorePacific... We have never heard of this Korean brand before and was quite intrigued by their products. She was so kind and made us some samples to try out... Pricey brand though, will have to see if I love the results enough to buy it! Have any of you heard about this brand? Is it worth the hefty price tag?! Please let me know! :)

Loose Button Luxe Box: September / Fall 2012

I've been peeking at other bloggers' Luxebox and was so surprised with what they received. I simply couldn't wait to try out the Eyeko eyeliner or get a deluxe version of the blinc mascara. However, when I opened my box, I was only disappointed by what was in it. Neither of the two things I wanted was in my box.... boooh! I guess that's just my luck. Anyways, here's what I got:
all the goodies~
will use it and see if I get smoother skin :P
love the cute bottle and the scent of this, too bad I won't be using the perfume, it's going straight to my collection of miniature box :)
I know this is for all skin types, but I found that most things that don't say oil-free doesn't go well with my skin.... should I risk breaking out?
I was going to give this away, but then I smelled the perfume and I really quite liked it... guess I'm keeping and enjoying it :)
Moroccanoil again? hmm... I think I have received a sample of every product from this brand. I like the brand but I'm getting tired of seeing it in my boxes every month~
Lancome Deficil Mascara in black
I've always wanted to try these nail polish strips out, but found it too pricey... I'm glad I got this in Glitz Blitz, I can see myself wearing this on NYE :)

The packaging: classy rectangular box almost the size of a shoe box, has a personalized touch on the sticker with the Loose Button logo and the letter "M" embossed on it, instead of the usual packing material, they use a white cloth thingy to wrap the samples in.
I am still debating if I want to keep this box. What do you think? for $26 does it seem worth it? Wait for the November box?

Guerlain foundation

Guerlain's Lingerie De Peau Invisible Skin Fusion Foundation SPF 20 in 02 Beige Clair
Foundation ON
This silky smooth foundation applies on like a dream... After applying on a thin layer of product, my face is pretty much evened out, however some blemishes are still visible.

Guerlain's LDP gives an effortless air-brushed look that is long lasting, not cakey, and does not emphasize my pores. This product feels and looks very much like my skin but better. I prefer thin layer and light coverage, but it is definitely build-able.

Since I have combination skin with an oily T, I love the fact that this is a one step face product, as I do not need extra face primer or setting powder. After about 4 hours only one sheet of blotting paper will suffice to remove excess oil from my T zone.

This is the most expensive foundation I've purchased, but after trying it out twice I knew I couldn't go back to my regular BB creams or foundations. It looked good in person or in photographs and is so light weight that I forget I have a foundation on. I think I have found my HG foundation :)

Scent? it's so lovely, light floral, I think it's violet :)
