MUFE + Eyeliner + Sephora VIB Hatbox = Haul (also Sephora haul from last month)

The cute hatbox with goodies that lured me to Sephora Friday after work... :)
I received an email from Sephora for VIB appreciation weekend... and ended up buying more than I expected... I stepped into Sephora for the sole purpose of looking at eyeliners but swayed and stumbled upon MUFE aqua cream... I got a few swatches... and fell in love with 3 of them...

Celebrity Look: Ke$ha

Since I've joined Makeuptalk.com I've been dying to try out a "Dare to be" challenge... Last night I finally got the courage to try it out and here's my attempt for the Ke$ha challenge, enjoy!

Products used:

Eye:
MAC greasepaint stick in Black Slick
e.l.f. essential brightening eyeliner in Black
e.l.f. teal eyeshadow from the 'night palette' applied all over the black area
NYX Glitter cream in Ocean Breeze, shade 2 and 3 (aqua blue and black glitters)
Mascara.... none!! I forgot to apply it!

Face:
Skin Food Gingko Green BB cream
e.l.f. bronzer from the 'contouring blush and bronzing powder,' this was used to contour my face and the non-existence bridge of my nose
e.l.f. studio blush in mellow mauve
Clinique bronzer in sunkissed

Lips:
L'Oreal Shine Delice in Coffee Blast
Maybelline Volume Seduction Lip Plumper in 105 (Born with it)
- I failed to have nude colour lips since I don't own one... but now I am motivated to go out and find on, so that my collection feel so incomplete...

Overall this look was very fun to do. I especially liked the fact that it was asymmetrical because I find it hard to replicate the same thing twice (especially those cat eyes...) I'm so looking forward to the next challenge!

Feeding my E.L.F. addiction!

Harro!

So here's my recent E.L.F. hauls... I got this first haul when ELF was having their 50% off Studio line... They short shipped me the makeup remover cloths, so I contacted customer service, within 24 hours they had an order in the system and I received the missing part a week later in the mail. So far, I have not had any problems with their customer service... :)

From this mini order, I've tried the cream liner in Teal Tease and really enjoyed it. Lovely colour, easy to apply and glides on smoothly... I'm glad I also got it in black and punk purple (which I gave to my friend cuz she loves eyeliners and the colour purple.) It was my first exposure to cream liner and I found it even easier to use than my CG liquid liner. <3

Onto my second haul...

ELF had their 7 year anniversary sale in the month of July and for 70 minutes on July 7th, there was a 70% off sale sitewide.... I could not resist... so here's my haul (that I finally received on July 25...)

I bought mostly things that I wanted to try out but haven't got around to or wouldn't want to pay full price for (ie false lashes...) The discount was quite sweet, I got everything above for less $20 USD (plus crazy Canadian shipping of $14.95...) Still... I think I'm ELFed-out for the year... :)

---------

ahh.... I must note... the blending wedges were awful... I didn't even get to try it out because they reeked so badly... wished I got something else as a filler.. haha...

FOTD: July 21, 2011

I left out two items from this picture, my Skin79 BB cream and ELF eyeshadow primer
Q3 - Flora and Fauna <-- the colours for this palette is very subtle and doesn't really pop out. I find that the shimmer makes it perfect for a neutral day look and helps to brighten your eyes. I found these eyeshadows a bit powdery and that they work best when applied with the applicators that came with the quad or alternately, your fingers. Another, trick that worked for me was to use a creamy base (ie NYX jumbo eye.) Love the greens and yellow in this palette, it's just so sad that the colours look so washed out from the lighting... I need a new camera T_T

Hello Kitty! - Swatches!!

I'm not normally a Hello Kitty fan, mostly because I prefer the rest of the Sanrio crew (Purin, Chococat, Pochacco and the list is endless...) but when I saw this on the Sephora website I just know that I really want it T^T

The Hello Kitty Graffiti Eyeshadow and Blush Palette has 4 eye shadows (shimmery gray, soft pink, grayish teal and charcoal) and 2 powder blushes (bronzy peach and dusty pink.) The colours are less adventurous in comparison to what the outside looks like, but I think are pretty wearable colours. The packaging on the other hand looks so cute, yet daring and colourful (which I <3)! Need I mention that it is a 'Sephora' exclusive, limited edition?? My # 1 weakness!!

Now I just need to go to Sephora to see how pigmented they are...I might have to wait for my trip to Atlanta next month to get this :)

------------------------

I had to check it out at Sephora today... my first impression when I saw it was realizing how big the palette was, almost the size of my palm. It was chunky!! anyways, here are some swatches of the eyeshadows for this palette :)
