Goodies from Lush's Christmas collection

Recently received some lovely scented treats from Shiny~ Sneaky girl knew my weakness for penguins and melty snowman, and of course, who can resist pink coloured stars ;)
the list:
  • The Christmas Penguin - this cutie is a holiday limited edition, with each peng being 'unique' or as my hub and I like to call it 'special.' :) This guys is just too perfect to be used!
  • Melting Snowman - I see this guy and it made me think about this book. I'm not sure why I keep thinking that the snowman's name is Frigo. I actually own a copy of this book in French... so I wonder... Anyways, I'm sure I will spoil myself with this spicy bath melt and I'm looking forward to it!
  • Magic Wand - this cute bubble bar can be use to make several baths 'magical.' I don't know why, all I could think of was how will I store it when I break off pieces of it~ :) Shopping for new jars? :) :)
Two of these goodies is in a jar that is at this moment sitting on my vanity. Some of you may wonder, why? Well, I found another purpose for these lovely bath/bubble bars, whenever I feel a tad stressed, I just leave the lid open for a while and let the relaxing kick in. Worked twice so far, no lies ;)

I think these bath sweets make excellent treats for anyone looking for something cute, smells great and is useful. Indulge a little!

I'm not sure if I will rewrite each mini product review, but let me know if you are interested in hearing about specific items. :)

Therapy day: Foods and hauls

Last Saturday, was therapy day. It consisted of both food and retail therapy. Starting with time spent at MEC (Mountain Equipment Co-Op) where I grabbed this ubber handy MEC backpack (pictures found on their website here.) Day one and my hubby got plenty use out of it, my new bag and he got dips on it! Then we went to Sansotei for some ramen~ the eggs were delish and the soup was good. I do have to say that I enjoy Santouka's ramen and soup a little bit more ^_^
Sansotei's Spicy Tantan with extra noodle and extra egg
After food, we split up from the guys and proceed to go to Yorkville, got side tracked at Lush in Eaton centre and picked up a few goodies. My hairstylist told me, I need to take better care of my hair and that it was in dire need of a proper hair treatment for dryness and horrible split ends. The CSR suggested the R&B hair moisturizer as a leave-in treatment for treating dry hair. Being both desperate and impulsive, I didn't even bother doing some research on it first (shame on me) and purchased it. Luckily, the results seem okay so far and I'm happy to report that I need very little products and is already seeing some improvement (used three times already). At Lush, I also purchased a tub of the Mint Julips lip scrub.. The minty chocolate scent reminds me of After Eight, but the husband seems to think it smells more like marshmallows.
The CSR was so sweet to give both Moose and I samples of the Rehab shampoo and the American Cream.^_^

After our Lush purchase, we finally went to Holt Renfrew so that I can pick up this gorgeous piece... the reason why we were going to Yorkville in the first place. I had originally wanted to pick up the half zip continental in black but once my eyes was set on the red and pink interior, I knew it had to be mine. I always wanted to get myself a classic piece of accessory before I got married and it wasn't until 6 months after the wedding that I finally found the right one. :) Kelly from the Prada counter at Holt was extremely nice and polite. Went to the back twice to get me the exact wallet of my dreams~ It's currently still in it's box waiting patiently to be used~
While at Holt, I stopped off at one more counter to make my last purchase of the day. And since I've been testing out the Jo Malone perfumes for the past 2 weeks, I decided it's time I got the English Pear and Freesia cologne along with the Wild Bluebell. I find this combination lovely and fresh. Robert was so kind to even give me more samples of the Nectarine Blossom and Honey. I think he's insistent that it goes well with the English Pear~ ^_^
Before leaving Holt... Lee from the Clé de Peau counter made me a sample of their face cleanser (refreshing cleansing foam). I've used it a few times and I am currently having the dilemma of keeping the 70$ in my pocket or splurging.... What's the verdict? to be continued...

LUSH - Indulgence Haul

Guess who decided to indulge herself to some awesome smelling bath stuff? Yep, the hub-to-be wouldn't get it for me, so I got them myself :)
Ma Bar Bubble Bar, Bubblebeard Bath Bomb, Dreamtime Bath Melt, So White Bath Bomb and a lipstick in Believe
These are honestly such a lovely treat for someone who needs to feel pampered every once in a while.
My late movember - stache
I've been dying to try out the Lush liquid lipstick, and even though I thought I liked Perspective, I didn't end up getting it. Instead, I bought Believe home with me. :)
Quick picture of Believe on my lips :D

Details?
01/12/12 --> Used the Ma Bar, and I loved the chocolatey sweetness of this bubble bar! The scent had lingered even hours into the night without being overwhelming. I can see why this was a favourite that couldn't be retired!
11/12/12 --> Used the So White Bath Bomb and Dreamtime. It was just perfect to use for the day before my big day since it relaxed me and allowed me a few hours of sleep that night. My room was filled with the lovely scent afterwards, just what I needed!

Swatches of my current Lippies : YSL, Lancome and Anna Sui

Hello pretties~~

Just thought I'd do a quick post sharing swatches of my current lippies... Including the clear Vaseline on the right ^_^
with flash
no flash
From left to right :) Lush Lip Tint - It started with a kiss, YSL Roughe Pur Couture Glossy Stain in 11 Rouge Gouache, Lancome Rouge In Love High Potency Color Featherlight Wear in 353M Rose Pitimini, Anna Sui Dolly Girl Lip Stick in 003, and plain old Vaseline!

I didn't realize that the first three colours were so similar until I swatched them on my arm. The YSL and Lancome are almost identical. Meh~~ the YSL lip stain is quite nice to wear, but I found not quite as glossy... I love the colour of the Lush lip tint, I just wish the scent wasn't so strong...

Okies... no more rambling ~~ Let me know if a detailed comparison is needed regarding texture, lasting power, etc... :)

March Haul: Drug store, Lush and Lancome

This month has been stressful~ So I resorted to shop therapy... and this is what I ended up with... (so far)
These were purchased on Thursday... I was out for pho with fiancé and auntie and afterwards we stopped by Shoppers... all of these items were on sale so I decided to try them out :) Maybelline baby lips in Pink Punch was $3.99, L'Oreal infallible eye shadow in eternal black was $9.99 and the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze and Pomegranate Punk for $6.99 each~ Steal right?(at least that's what I'm telling myself...) Anyways, I've only swatched the lip balm, but if you want the swatches of the e/s just let me know :)
Maybelline baby lips in pink punch: 1st picture with flash, second without~ It feels more like a lipstick than a lipbalm as it is not very moisturizing, but is extremely pigmented... If you are shy of bright lips (like me) you'd have to use a light hand with this to get a lovely bright pink (gotta find the lip picture or take a new one and post sometime in the near future ^_^)
On Saturday, after some particularly annoying conversations with Wind mobile's call centre I went to Lush... and Sina (amazing CSR) gave me my first quick facial... I decided to buy everything plus a lip tint... however I gave the Imperialis moisturizer to Mom (not in picture) because I found that it was way too oily for me, but would be perfect for her! I got the Breath of Fresh Air Toner and decided to try the Angels on Bare Skin face cleanser. I'm liking both products so far, but will test it out a bit more to see if my skin likes it as well. As for the lip tint, see pictures below!
I'm loving the natural healthy colour! I debated between It started with a kiss and A million kisses, so Sina convinced me, It started with a kiss is more spring :) Glad he was honest, so glad I listened~ It is a lovely tint that I do not regret adding to my collection, but I have to admit the smell is a bit off-putting and the container can be difficult to open.

I then proceed to Sephora... and got only 1 lipstick but lots of free products~~ I got the email about the free BareMinerals Finishing touches set and that was my cue... I love trying new products!
As you can see.. I also picked up my Nars primer as well as a sample of Nars foundation. I got curious about how well it would do on my skin type and the Sephora CSR matched me with Fiji and gave me a very generous sample :)
Products out of box but not out of bag -__-
Now... Onto the lipstick! I cave into the Lancome, Rouge in Love in 353M Rose Pitimini :)
This was another lovely lipstick with beautiful colour. It applies nicely and smells like Rocket Pop, I'm tempted to bite my lips because it smells so sweet. I find that this lipstick is not as moisturizing as advertise, but this problem can be easily fixed by applying a lip balm before, or after... :)
Let me end off this post with this picture of a withered tulip... I find it beautiful despite of its state. :)
