Rose Rose Shop Haul

I've been looking forward to receiving this package these past few weeks and was not disappointed when it finally arrived!
Look at all the packaging! I was happy that nothing broke!
So here is a list of products sorted by the brands. I would do swatches of all of them in a separate post, but I included some simply because I just couldn't wait. Enjoy!

The Face Shop:
Mini Pet Perfume Hand Cream in 03 White Floral - too cute for words, still in their original packaging!
Mini Pet Perfume Hand Cream in 04 Fruity Floral - this one too ^^
Face Blusher in 05 Pink Affair
Face Blusher in 06 Fuzzy Peach
Face Blusher in 07 Pink Peach
Face Blusher in 02 Gold Glow Highlighter
Eyes Shadow in 01 Purple Fog
Eyes Shadow in 02 Retro Blue
Eyes Shadow in 03 Peach Kissed
Eyes Shadow in 04 Brownie
Eyes Shadow in 12 Baby Pink
Eyes Shadow in 16 Beautiful Orange
Eyes Shadow in 18 Purple Dance
Eyes Shadow in 22 Cocoa Powder
Nail Polish Remover in 01 Rose - It is slightly rose scented and did its job well. For 80 cents, I can't really complain anything about it.

Etude House:
Drawing Eye Brow in 03 Brown
Drawing Eye Brow in 05 Gray - Very light packaging compared to my current HG Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting pencil (at a fraction of the cost!!), the grey is decently pigmented for brows, the brush on the end has hard bristles, which I'm not fond of.

Tony Moly:
Delight Mono Shadow Matte in 05 Brown Cookie - barely visible when swatched, but makes a great all-over eyelid colour.
Delight Mono Shadow Shimmer in 09 Browston - Lovely pigmentation, easy to blend, very wearable neutral
Browston and Brown Cookie
I've been wearing these two colours every day as it is perfect for work. I did not realize that they came without a case, but since there is a magnet on the back I just popped these two pans in an old mint container. The edge of the pans are also slightly higher than the typical pans and are hard to fit into a regular palette.

Cat Chu Wink Gloss in 09 Fanta Orange - Big disappointment, I expected it to have great colour payoff, but was left rather underwhelmed. There is no colour, just a gloss with glitter. Booh!

It's SKIN Model Project Cake Eyebrow in 02 Mocha Brown and Natural Gray

Innisfree Eco Beauty Tool Natural Eyelashes

RoseRoseShop was also super generous and included 7 samples in my package :)

Buxom - Big and Healthy Lip Cream

Description from Sephora website: "Tingle, plump, and shine your smile to super-sexy proportions. No shimmer, no glimmer—this creamy lip gloss delivers velvety-smooth color with intoxicating shine. The hyaluronic filling spheres infuse lips with moisture for creamy soft perfection and the look of a full, extra-kissable pout. Vitamins A and E help keep the skin supple, yet protected, and the fun tingling sensation reminds you the gloss is hard at work."
This creamy gloss is described as a peach sorbet, which goes on quite bright when applied on bare or dull looking lips. On days I'm too lazy to apply much colours, ie blush and bronzer (which is most days...) I find that this help to instantly brighten my face and make me look more awake/alive. This product is actually quite moisturizing and feels lovely on. It's lasting power is decent, as long as I don't constantly sip my coffee in the morning, reapplication is pretty minimal. I love this especially for the fact that it is non-sticky and not overly shiny since some glosses have that 'greasy' looking effect. When you first apply this, there is the initial tingling sensation, which goes away around the same time the 'plumping' effect wears off.

Creamsicle was purchased on a whim... and I have been hopelessly hooked ever since! However, due to my lips acting up to Fresh's Sugar lip treatment (has beeswax as first ingredient) I had a severe reaction that took me nearly 20 days to heal... in any case, I'm glad my lips are finally back to normal and I can take pictures of this wonderful product on my lips. Now onto some pictures!

Overall Rating ***** / 5 (1 = worst 5 = best) I really enjoy this and I'm looking forward to trying other colours which this formula!

Here's a picture of me sporting Creamsicle on my bare lips. As you can see when paired with neutral eyes, this lip cream can really add a pop colour and brighten the entire face! :)

I also find that this gloss is great layered over a darker lip colour, this will 'brighten' the colour for a more daytime look. I tried this over Clinique's A Different Grape and really liked the colour, you should do some experimenting too!!

Sephora Favourites: Give me some lip 2012

I purchased this lip sampler set a while back and finally got around to trying them all out.
Laura Mercier Lip Glacé in Baby Doll - pretty decent wear, it lasted 3+ hours after some tea and coffee. I thought this was pretty impressive for a lipgloss. I am surprised that this product has a light sweet scent that is barely noticeable. This is awesome since it doesn't clash with other lip products I use under it :) I also like the colour of the gloss as it has just a hint of pink with some shimmer. Subtle, but very cute. The product is very thick and I think its applicator is perfect for it simply because I prefer dotting some products on and let my lips do the rest. I don't like 'brushing' on lipglosses because I feel like I have less control on how much product I use and I don't like wiping the products on the edge of the tube, it's too messy looking. Hmm... I know I sound like I'm praising this product, but I just don't have a bad things to say about it yet... I might find something... but for now, I'm loving this :)

Tarte LipSurgence Natural Matte Lip Tint in Hope - I really wanted to try this product out, but I saw beeswax as an ingredient for the Tarte Lip Tint and hesitated... So I was glad that when I checked this specific colour and I found out that it did not contain beeswax :) Happy! The colour is very lovely and natural. It is a matte warm pink that is great for work and is beautiful under the LM lip glacé. It has a minty scent which I am not crazy about, but it goes away after some time. On its own the product is very drying, so I need to apply a balm before using it. This product lasts a very long time and does stain your lips.

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Sugar Rosé - Love the colour, love the fresh citrus scent. Even though this had beeswax, it did not cause my lips to peel, then again, I do apply either a layer of Vaseline or LM lip silk under it. I wonder if it might have cause a barrier to prevent a reaction? In any case, I've used it a few times and I like the lovely flushed looking lips I saw. It's nice that Sephora gave this out as a birthday present last year and that I managed to grab a set.

Hourglass Extreme Sheen High Shine Lip Gloss in Child - This is a sheer gloss, with little to no pigmentation. I've applied this gloss over nude lipsticks and it didn't really make a difference. However, when applied over a matte lipstick or lip stain, this product gives the lip a very lovely slight gloss finish and I want to say makes the colour look a lot more 3D. This product is scented, reminding me of Garden cookies (from HK.) I like the non-sticky feeling of this gloss, as well as the application of the product. The applicator is also something that I quite enjoy, it is a flat brush with a flexible/bendable tip/sponge. I enjoy using this product more now that I use it on top of a more dry matte lipstick that is not nude.

Sephora Collection Glossy Gloss in Precious Pink - I won't be reviewing this product, since I am giving it away. This is described as a very sheer pink with an iridescent shimmer. I have used the Sephora gloss before and thought they were ok. This colour looks pretty enough in the packaging.

Bite Beauty Lip Shine in Vintage - I'm on the fence about trying this one. I haven't been too curious about this brand since its products contain beeswax, and I don't really want to fall in love with products that I know I shouldn't. It is described as a sheer mauve. Please let me know if you've tried this product and if it's worth me risking the lip issue. Thanks!

Shiseido Warehouse sale Haulage~

Just a quick haul post with what I picked up from the Shiseido warehouse sale this weekend. Enjoy!
the haul
Clé de Peau  eye colour quad in 1 and 3- $27 each
Clé de Peau cream eye colour in Shade 1 and 2 - $20 each
Nars concealer in Vanilla Honey - $10
Shiseido Hydro powder eyeshadow in H6 Violet Visions - $8 (I think...)
I am wearing the purple in this look. The colour is very vibrant. I applied it with my pinky and was surprised at  how easy it was to work with as well as the colour payoff with so little product. Will for sure pick up some more colour next time. It wore the entire day without budging :)
I also got a quite a few lippies, but haven't had the chance to take pictures, so I will post them up when I have them swatched as well :) Until then... thank you for reading this post!

Other items at the sale:
- Shiseido and Nars foundations for $10
- Joico shampoo (big bottle) $8
- Shiseido's Pureness, Whiteluscent, The Skincare and the Benefiance line as well as the sunscreen line
- various Orlane skincare products

Essentially, there were the same products from last time, pricing didn't increase for Nars or Shiseido makeup, however I'm not sure about the skincare products. The Shiseido face cotton were at $7... One thing that was different this time around, was the Clé de peau products :) I splurged~

Swatched: OCC lip tars and YSL Sheer Candy gloss

I picked up these lovely lippies during the VIB sale, just thought I should swatch them and show you the colours. For the OCC lip tars I wanted to show you how little products is needed to get the opaque colour as shown on the swatch. They were not joking when they say the tiniest drop... There was still quite a bit of products left on my fingers after. I'm pretty sure these lip tars really will last me forever...

On the Sephora website, Memento is described as midtone pink plum, Grandma is a classic coral and Sweet Fig is a sheer brick red.

Have you tried these products before? Are there any colours you'd recommend I check out or avoid? Share!

Sephora V.I.B. Haul 2012

If there's a sale... I'm there :)

During the Sephora VIB sale I picked up a few things I wanted to try and only 1 necessity can you guess which?
Haul with samples~
What I bought...
Yeps, it was the Claisonic head, 2 pack for $45, at 20% off they cost me 36$ plus tax , not that much of a steal, but it beats paying full price!
I've been dying to try OCC lip tars, and I'm really enjoying them! Kind of surprise at how pigmented they are, since a little dot goes a LONG way and they are extremely opaque and bright. Will swatch when I get a chance. I got them in Memento and Grandma ( the BRIGHT orangey coral on the right)
I don't remember when I first wanted to try out this brand, but I know that after hoping to receive them in my Luxebox and not getting them I decided I must try. So I got this travel size set for $19 plus 20% off. Happy I didn't get them in full size because the eyeliner smudged on me and there was transfer (aka raccoon eyes) within 3 hours... I enjoy the application of the mascara but I'm iffy about the eyeliner. Unlike the eyeliner, the mascara didn't smudge... Should I return the set and just get the mascara? I also find that the eyeliner dries out quickly...
I saw this on Sandra's video and knew I had to try it out. I got the Volupté Sheer Candy glossy balm in 7 Sweet Fig. It's such a lovely red tint! Feels, smell and looks awesome on the lips :) wait for swatches!
The last item I picked up in the sale was the YSL Anti-Cernes Multi-action concealer in 2 Nude Beige... I purchased only one, but decided I liked both angles so I posted them both up ^_^ I'm on day 2 of this concealer. I enjoy the creamy texture of this concealer, as it does not emphasize fine lines. This product still needs some through testing!

Anyhow that's my Sephora haul~~ What did you get? :)

Birthday Haul 2012 - Addicted to Dior

I spoiled myself rotten this year for my birthday :) I waited until Shopper's had their bonus point redemption to claim some products I wouldn't normally buy otherwise... Picked up two Dior skincare products and quite a few makeup products as well. Voici mon haul!
I splurged on skincare even though I know I shouldn't be trying out anything new for the next month... but the lovely smell and the nice hydrated feeling on the skin made it irresistible  I'm still in the process of testing out the products to make sure my face won't breakout (since their foundation breaks me out after a few hours of use...grr...)
UPDATE: Both products caused me to break out. I had little pimples around my cheek/jawline as well as increased redness on my face. When I bought it back to Shopper's for an exchange the CSR told me it's my face getting use to the product... but at 65$ each, I don't feel like taking the risk to find out. Also, with the wedding less than a month away, I should not be irritating my skin!
Dior Hydra Life Youth Essential Concentrated Sorbet Essence and Pro-Youth Sorbet Crème
I went crazy with some lippies and a blush... So into nudes lately~~
From the Dior Addict collection I picked up 2 lipsticks, 222 Beige Casual and 530 Bobo, also a gloss in 257 Pink Trench
I also picked up a Rouge Dior lipstick in 314 Angelique Beige (swatched here)
Update: BOOO! I found out that the Rouge Dior formula contains beeswax after my lips started itching after I applied it. So sad because this was such a lovely colour on the lips. As always, I like natural and moisturized looking lips... This made my lips peel :(
Last but not least, I bought my first Dior blush in 533 Passion Fruit. This luxurious blush came with it's own pouch!
So in total... I spent 140.13$ for 340$ worth of Dior products :) Tell me I did good~ haha...
